So before you read I might have gone crazy and written a 3.4K fanfic. Do I regret it? No. I had a lot of fun writing this so hope you enjoy under the Cut.
Wild Cat
So you and Opera know each other before you guys knew Balam and Kalego. You were a year older than Opera so when Opera came to Babyls Demon School they followed you around the school like you were their prey. You were the reason why Opera met Sullivan. Before meeting Sullivan, Opera would go around and attack other students, even some teachers. When Opera found out that you were Sullivan's right hand they started to stalk you. After following you for a bit after school they follow you to the back of the school.
“So you're Sullivan right hand, huh? You don’t look that strong. Maybe if I beat you up I will get a go at the big man himself.” Opera started to pounce at you.
You put your hands up to cover yourself and close your eyes waiting for the attack to come but it never did. You open your eyes to see Sullivan in front of you, stopping the attack with one finger.
“Tsk, tsk Opera, did you know it is very rude to attack fellow classmates,” Sullivan started to say, “why don’t you and I go and have a talk. What do you say, Opera?”
As Opera responded they lifted their leg up and went to kick Sullivan in the face but once again Sullivan was able to block it by grabbing his leg. Then Sullivan put Opera under his arm and started to walk off with Opera.
“Great let's go have our chat this way,” Sullivan says walking off, “Oh and (y/n) please cancel my meeting for today and tomorrow and have them reschedule, more important things came up. Once you tell them you can head home for the day.”
After whatever talk they had, Opera had a dazed and confused look for weeks, they looked like they were lost in thought. At the end of the week, you saw them sitting on one of the benches in school as all the other students started to leave school. You went to one of the vending machines and bought two sodas and walked up to Opera and handed it to them. Opera gave you a confused look before grabbing it. You two sat in silence drinking your soda, neither of you speaking, just watching the students walk by. It was a good 20 minutes before Opera finally broke the silence.
“Why are you sitting next to me? Just a week ago I tried to attack you.” Opera asked, looking down at the ground.
“You look a little lost. So I thought you could have someone to talk to. So what if you tried to attack me. You need someone to lend you an ear and I will lend you an ear.” You say.
Opera looked over to you with a surprising look on their face before looking back down at the ground. Silence fell onto you two again to the point that only the teachers were left in the school. Then once again Opera broke the silence.
“Sullivan said the same thing you said. He said I look lost and all this fighting is you trying to find you an answer. So talk to me, I will listen,” Opera said before pausing then they started to speak again, “I didn’t talk at all, I was quiet. He asks me all these questions and I never answer them. He sat with me for 6 hours before he said I will give you time to think so why don’t I take you home. Then I kicked him in the face and ran off. I still don’t know why I kicked him or why he wanted to help me even though I caused chaos for his school?”
You watch as his face looks so torn and their ears and tail are droopy. Silence fell onto you once again but for a much shorter time. But this time you were the one to speak.
“Sullivan did the same thing for me. I am a weak demon in strength and magic. I try to get into fights but most demons either push me away or just beat me up. So after one of the times I got beat up Sullivan found me and healed me up and asked me what happened. I told him and he asked me why I needed to fight to prove that I was strong? There are other ways to be strong. I was confused about what he meant, so I asked him to show me. Then he took me under his wing and taught me ways to be strong not in ways of strength or in magic but in wits, intelligence, and many other skills. Then the next thing I know I am his right hand.” You say.
“Will he do the same for me?” Opera asked.
“Yes he will, all you got to do is ask,” You answer, “But you can ask him another time let's get going home, he most likely is at his home as well.”
You got up off the bench and lent a hand towards them to help them up. They take your hand and stand up. As you walk out of school Opera speaks up again.
“I never got your name.” They say.
You let out a chuckle before answering, “You knew I was Sullivan's right hand but not my name.”
Opera looked down sheepishly, “I didn’t bother, all I cared for was beating you up, which I would like to say sorry for trying to beat you up.”
“Don’t worry about I’m not mad about it but the names (y/n).”
“Opera.”
“Pleasure to meet you Opera.”
After you two walk home the next day Opera asks Sullivan to find the answer to his question. Which Sullivan happily accepted. Then you and Opera became Sullivan's right hands and whenever Sullivan you two would hang out with each other becoming good friends.
Then your third year started and Opera second year started. Opera thought of a way to repay Sullivan's kindness and that was by cleaning up the school. Which means beating a bunch of demons up again. But this time you clean up the mess. This is also how you met Kalego and Balam who became Opera ‘underlings’. This was also the first time you got badly injured after you met Opera.
It was another day at school Opera beating up another group of students that they say they now have a reason for beating up, unlike last year. Kalego yelled at him to stop and Balam followed closely behind.
“Will you stop starting all these fights! You are making more of a mess than cleaning up the mess you think you are fixing!” Kalego yelled.
Opera was once again on top of another hill of bodies that you will have to send to the nurse's office. Opera was looking down at Kalego as if he was a little child crying over spilled milk.
“I will not stop. If you want me to stop you will have to beat me like this so call the guard dog of the school.” Opera said in a somewhat mocking tone. That only made Kalego even angrier.
“Why don’t you come down here then so I can put you down a peg or two!” Kalego yelled once more.
Opera gave a cocky smirk as he jumped off the hill of bodies. Those two were staring down at each other almost like there was lighting sparking off each other. You look over at Balam who was shifting around nervously looking at ways to stop this fight from happening. At this point, you knew you had to step in.
Stepping in between the two you spoke, “Alright you two knock it off. Kalego is right in this Opera you don’t need to fight to solve all of this. Kalego please stop getting angry at Opera, it only encourages them.”
Opera calms down and looks at you with almost a sad look to it and Kalego just lets out a huff. Having calmed down the fight you were finally able to get the hill of bodies to the nurse's office. After that, all of you went your separate ways to your class and that's when it happened. On your way to your class, another student walks up to you. You could tell from the injuries he had that it was most likely a student that Opera had beaten up. You could tell by the look on his face that he was pissed off.
“You're the one that's always by Opera side?” The student asked.
“Yes, that is correct.” You answer with some concern.
“Good now let's teach Opera a lesson by beating you up then maybe they will learn their lesson.” He said with venom dripping from his voice.
He cracked his knuckles as he started to walk up to you. You tried to back away but he was able to back you into a wall. Then after that, you don’t know what happened, he was able to knock you out. When you woke up when you were in the nurse’s office you saw that Balam and Kalego were next to you. Those two seeing you were up put relief on their faces. Balam pulls you into a hug seeing where up and Kalego pulls out his phone and looks to be texting someone.
“I’m so glad you are okay (y/n)” Balam said in his hug.
“What happened? How did I end up here?” You ask.
“Balam and I found you in the hallway unconscious with your head bleeding and a huge dent in the wall. We brought you here after we found you.” Kalego answered.
You look down at the ground hearing that and as you were about to speak up the door suddenly slammed open. You see Sullivan at the door, seeing you awake he runs over to you pushing Balam off of you.
In his crying mess, he said, “Oh (y/n) thank goodness you are okay. When I heard the news I was so worried. Even Opera was so worrying I think even more than me.”
“Where is Opera?” You asked.
Everyone went silent when you mentioned Opera. Their faces all gave an uncomfortable look to them. None of them wanted to answer the question and it was complete silence. Almost assuming the worst, the door opens once again to see Opera this time at the door. Their face had the same look of loss on it as when you saw them on the bench but this time it had other emotions on their face. The face showed a look of sadness and regret. Seeing that you were awake finally Opera rushed over sitting at the side of your bed next to Sullivan. Everyone faces look at Opera waiting for them to say something.
Opera, seeing everyone's look, answers their looks by asking, “Can you leave the two of us alone for a minute?”
“Of course Opera. Now come along Balam and Kalego, let's leave these two alone for a bit.” Sullivan said, getting up. Balam and Kalego got up and followed after Sullivan, closing the door behind them as they left, leaving the two of you alone.
Once Opera heard the door close behind them they spoke up, “It is my fault that you are here.”
“No, it is you weren’t the one who-” You started to say
“Yes, I was! If I didn’t get into those fights you would have never happened.” Opera yelled.
“You meant well with all the fights even though it might have been the best way of doing it. But you didn’t think this would happen. I am fine now Opera and please don’t blame yourself for this.” You say.
Then Opera goes silent almost as if they are thinking things through. Opera places a hand on top of yours and gives you a smile. You two sat in silence for the rest of the day. After that day Opera stood by your side and made sure you were out of harm's way. Opera got into fewer and fewer fights as the school years went by, sticking to mostly teasing Kalego instead. Each year as well you and Opera got even more closely with each other. You were able to stay out of harm's way until the next time you got injured at the Walter park incident.
Many years went by since then and both you and Opera became devil security for Sullivan and as well as a protector for Sullivan's newest member of the family, his grandson Iruma. While Opera helps with training Iruma in strength, you help out Iruma with his studying. Both you and Opera were confused on why Sullivan would pick Iruma who is a human over any demon but as both of you saw him grow you why he chose Iruma.
Now that vacation is here, all the kids from the misfit class all decide to go to Walter Park. Sullivan, being as nervous and worried for Iruma's safety, Opera, Balam, and Kalego were tasked with watching the students. All the kids look excited to see and explore Walter Park that they all almost ran off in different directions. The four adults grab the students, stopping them in their tracks.
“Can't we just go and do whatever we like?” Lied asked.
“No, if you want to split up, you’ll do it with a chaperone.” Kalego answers annoy with even the thought of them being all over the place.
“Why don’t we split everyone up into 3 groups?” Balam suggested.
“Wait, why not 4 groups? There are 4 adults here.” Jazz asks, pointing at each of the adults. Balam and Kalego both look unconfirmable at the thought of 4 groups almost not wanting to respond.
Opera responded to Jazz’s question, “(y/n) and I will be one group because we can’t be separated. Sullivan orders.”
You gave a confused look at Opera because you don’t remember Sullivan ever giving those orders but it seems to get the students to not question why only 3 groups. With setting up the competition you got all in your groups. Yours and Opera group happen to be all the girls and off to the clothing stores. Right after the hearing, Iruma was found again after a loud crash as the building gets destroyed by a panther rat. You and Opera got separated with you only having Elizabetta and Crocell while Opera has Clara and Ameri.
The panther rat kept destroying buildings with its tail sending debris flying your way. You were able to move the students out of the way but your movement must have caught the monster's eyes.
Because as you set down the students you hear Elizabetta yell, “Watch out (y/n)!”
You turn around to see one of the monster’s tails coming towards you and crash into your side sending you flying into one of the buildings. As you move and try to get up with your dizzy vision and your hearing ringing. You saw the monster staring down at you through the hole it made when it threw you. It stared down at you sending its tails ready to finish you off. As they come down you hear an ear-piercing scream of your name you couldn’t tell who it was from but the tails quickly disappear after the scream.
As you were able to get out of the hole you saw all the girls looking shocked and terrified but not at the monster but at Opera. Opera was in a blind rage and was destroying the monster each time one of the tails tried to attack them it was immediately cut down. You haven’t seen Opera fight like this before they almost look like they were in their wicked phase or worse return to origin. As the monster falls to the ground defeated single-handedly by Opera. You tried to walk up to Opera and call out their name but your vision got blurry and you fell unconscious.
When you woke up you found yourself in a bed in the hotel. You saw that there was food and get well soon cards on the nightstand next to you from the students. Right next to it was Opera sitting in a chair with their head resting on the bed asleep. You place your hand on top of their head and pet their ears. Their ears and tails started to twitch as Opera started to wake up. Opera eyes kept opening and closing, deciding whether or not to wake up. Deciding to wake up Opera to see you up gives you a smile. As Opera sat up in their chair you removed your hand from their head.
“The students are very kind to give me food and get a well-soon card, aren’t they?” You state.
“Yes, they are. The food was mostly Iruma, but the cards were from all of them. Elizabeth and Crocell wanted to say thank you for saving them.” Opera responded.
You two sat in silence only hearing the party going on in the hotel as background noise. You don’t know how long you sat in silence before Opera spoke again.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t-” Opera started to say before you cut him off.
“Don’t finish that sentence,” You started to say, catching Opera off guard, “you didn’t fail to protect me. We were both doing a job to protect the students.”
“But I’m also there to protect you,” Opera said.
“Which you did when I got hit. I saw the fight and what you did. Thank you for saving me.”
“I don’t deserve your thanks. I wasn’t able to keep my promise to myself.”
“What promise?”
“After you got injured back when we were in our third and second year after that I promised to protect you.”
“But you can’t control that with the job we both have that is difficult.”
“Yes, I can! I can protect the person I care about and love the most!”
This sudden confession stun both you and Opera. Maybe Opera a little more than you. The room fills with silence once again but not the silence you are used to. Unlike the other silence that was comfortable this silence was heavy. Neither of you was able to speak at a loss for words trying to find what to say. Both of you as well not wanting to be the first one to speak. The silence went on for what felt like hours. Neither of you could hear the outside noise anymore. You two were staring at each other waiting for the other one to finally speak.
“Can you repeat?” You say breaking the silence almost in the worst way.
Opera took a deep breath before responding, “I have loved you since I think you talk to me on the bench. But it took me until you were injured to realize. Seeing you in the nurse's office injured by someone mad at me made me feel so guilty. So I promise to protect you with all my life as in the same way I protect Sullivan.”
“Why didn’t you tell me till now?” You asked.
“I didn’t know if you would return my feelings so I stayed silent. But I guess I can get your response now. If you don’t return them that's fine just let me stay by your side. All that matters is that I stay by your side because I truly love and care for you.” They respond.
You were stunned to hear that. For that long and to hold it in that long. Why didn’t they tell you? You would have returned it. After meeting them and seeing them grow. All the years spending time with each other. Helping each other during the worst. Opera protects you from any danger that comes your way. Then to see that rage for you being injured. How could you not fall for them?
Opera ears drip after not hearing you respond to their question. Taking the hint they start to get up and leave. You quickly grab their arm before they could leave. Opera turns to look at you in a confused manner. You quickly pull them down and give them a peck on the cheek. A shocked look came on Opera's face as a blush started to form on their face.
“Sorry, it took me so long to respond. So let us spend the rest of our time protecting each other.”
Hope you enjoy here it is on AO3 if you want to read it there:

Fanfic ask game: B, F and T ? ^^
B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?
I'd say After the Fall of Olympus is the story most based on my personal experience, especially my thoughts on grief. Essentially, I wanted to explore how fiction seems to portray grief at its newest/most raw ig stage rather than the longterm rebuilding that comes after it and is ultimately more important rebuilding phase into something new.
F: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
I really like this scene from right before the Final Task in Ch.27 of Triwizard Tournament. I like what it says about their viewpoints of heroism.
“Hmm, why do you think we bow to them,” Oikawa mused after Ushijima had straightened. “We’re the ones that did everything, all they do is sit there and watch.”
“It’s a matter of respect,” Ushijima responded. “We’re honoring the opportunity to prove our skills.”
Oikawa laughed shortly. “Oh, Ushi-chan, surely you can’t be that naive. We bow because it’s a show and we’re their dancing hipogriffs.” He winked. “Don’t give it more thought than that.”
Ushijima made a low noise in the back of his throat. “I understand now. You’re a cynic.”
“Better the cynic than the sycophant,” Oikawa shot back. “Or, worse, do you actually believe that?”
“I believe there are notions bigger than myself,” Ushijima answered, even as ever but Oikawa could hear the underlying indignation in his voice. “I pity you if you don’t understand.”
Oikawa tasted venom on his tongue; but didn’t get the chance to respond before the Minister began speaking again.
T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?
Teacher/Student relationships (at like any age, even if all of the characters are adults or the student's even older than the teacher)...I just get grossed out by the massive issues with consent there. Similarly, I have a tendency to really dislike SlaveryAUs. Anything with hugely questionable consent issues because of power gaps basically.
Thank you so much for the ask!

Maybe for the prompt do smth about how once Anthony gets close to death and how him and Kate react to it. OR I always found it weird how despite Anthony claiming that he’d not be faithful in a loveless marriage Kate doesn’t think about whether he has a mistress or not. Maybe you can do an angsty fanfic where she thinks this and confronts him abt not spending time with her and rather with his (nonexistent) mistress.
hiii, thanks again for sending me the prompt, it’s been ages since i’ve written about Bridgerton but i hope you like it. i did the last one (Kate believing that Anthony has a mistress etc) i do have to say this was quite fun, i do like an angsty Kate, i might edit it later to add more layers of angst but here :)
~ Kate knew not to expect love from a rake like Anthony Bridgerton.
It sounded absurd, almost moronic that Kate had wired her brain not to expect love from her own husband.
A man who had covenanted before God and before witnesses to love her until death did they part.
She had been warned before either of them ventured into the covenant of marriage that love wasn't to be the foundation of their marriage as it pollutes and infects. Anthony was sure that love wasn't a thought or a feeling he wanted to explore with Kate. Anthony neither wasn't a man known for leaving subliminal messages.
He was painfully direct.
A bit too direct for Kate's liking.
He sat at this desk in his study, with his jaw pressed in, sipping a glass of bourbon darkly.
Kate had noticed his distance, how could she not?
It wrecked and rattled her.
She had noticed how hesitant he was to draw out words in a single breath whenever she'd ask about his day. He'd become tight lipped as his dark brown eyes stared back at the empty tumbler glass that was filled with liquor seconds ago.
He seemed reluctant to pay his wife any mind and often left her in the company of herself to paint.
Kate often wondered whether he had fallen out of love with her.
It is obvious to Kate that she wasn't the type that rakes like Anthony Bridgerton fell in love with. She didn't exude beauty or grace like Edwina, her features were much more hidden.
Yet all she craved, all she yearned for was for a moment with him.
Her husband.
Did he hate her?
How could one explain such distance, such disdain, such nonchalance for a woman one is covenanted to?
She hated how he avoided her even after an afternoon of being surrounded by male testerone at the club with the latter being the most painful.
He didn't even seem to notice the little things but she noticed everything.
The door creaked open as Kate stepped in, hesitant, "Anthony?"
His gorgeous brandy brown eyes didn't even fling a glance at Kate as he swirled his glass - "Not now, Kate."
Kate hated the silence but his brief but curt glances was worse. It felt like a sharp strangle, ridding her of her ability to breathe. His fingers no longer swam across the dip in her back when she slept, it was obvious that his heart had taken residency in another woman's.
Maybe Siena’s.
She had noticed unexplained trips to possibly the opera.
Maybe, just maybe, if the circumstances were different, Anthony would have wedded Siena especially when their courtship didn't happen organically. The curious eyes of Mary Sheffield, Lady Bridgeton and Lady Featherington had found them both in a compromising position together. To not marry would have put a visible stain of Kate’s marriage prospects.
It had to be that, it was a painful reality to Kate that he had found a woman more desirable, more worthy of his love than his own wife.
After all, men are passionate beings.
Kate conjured all of the things she might have done to push him into the arms of a stranger. Maybe he had grown tired of her scent of soap and lillies and craved more sensual scent to devour or the way she wore her hair.
"Then when am I at liberty to speak, my lord?" Kate choked out, trying to paint a subdued face.
Anthony hissed with the bottom rim of the glass clunking on the desk - "I said I'm busy, Kate"
Kate arched her eyebrow as her tongue held a bit more venom, "Your work affairs can wait, my lord."
Anthony was still barcidading Kate's attempt for a sit down, until, her voice cracked a desperate please.
"Please, my lord?"
He nodded glumly giving her the aye she needed to proceed.
"You've been awfully distant, my lord?" Kate began fiddling with her gold wedding band. Anthony's eyes were dark and dipped low, his face expressionless. "As I said, I've been tied up with work affairs - "
Kate butted in, paying no mind to the ethics of call and response, "So that is viable explanation for your distance?"
Anthony's fingers tapped against the desk, trying to block out.
He didn't have the courage to tell his wife that he had grown so fond of her, how above all, he thoroughly enjoyed her company. But each time he felt a pull to open up the can of his deepest and darkest secrets, he'd be reminded.
Reminded of the heartbreak that almost tore through his family when his father died at the youthful age of 38 and how his mother, Violet, disappeared into the shell of the person she once was.
He didn't ever want Kate to experience such a loss and if he had to make attempts to distance himself from her, he would. It was so painstakingly hard when her heart was so inviting.
Kate stood there abject, almost defeated - "You've found another woman to wed, I presume?"Anthony, for the first time, swung Kate a smirked look which didn't calm her waters but sent her blazing.
Kate didn’t even wait for Anthony to form a response, she was heading for the hills and would castrate him if she needed to.
"I mean this with all due respect, my lord" Kate began with her eyes jutted, "I believed you to be nothing but a rake from our first meeting. It is damning that my initial observations have proved to be true. Believe me, it is indeed a shame. You've trapped me into a covenant where you professed that respect was two ways. Have you no regard for me, your wife?"
Anthony chuckled at an irate Kate who didn't take his upturned smile too kindly.
"I suppose this is all humourous to you my lord?" Kate gnashed, her temper flaring up and up and up.
Anthony blinked, still smug - "It is rather funny, my dear Kate"
"Please explain. I'm due a good laugh" Kate bit, clouds of pink filling her cheeks.
"You burn me, Lady Bridgerton. There cannot be anyone else"
Anthony stood up, gripping the inside of Kate's forearm and enrapturing her in a deep, sensual kiss.

St Francis of Assisi Church Graveyard
Folwerton, Indiana
May 18th 2014
"The thin blue line is a symbolic quote when people hear it, everyone knows it represents the common brotherhood of brothers and sisters of the police department, Yes this is 2014, and we actually allow women on the forces, go figure."
Inside I am boiling at my chief's words; no one could tell by merely looking at me. On the outside, I am cool as a cucumber, a ridged posture a stony expression on my face; some would call it the resting bitch face as I stand with my fellow firefighters and paramedics as our chief Dave Byon stands at the podium graveside. I'm doing the best I can to keep my emotions in check. My heart rate has increased instead of the usual thump- thump which a heart is supposed to beat, mine is now a bang-convulse- throb. I feel the heat rushing to swell in my face, pain tightening inside my chest.
I was born with Cystic Fibrosis; living with CF feels as if I have a rattlesnake inside my chest; every breath I take leaves me shaking, coughing, sweating the damn snake hisses out of my mouth as I cough and wheeze, feeling the snake's teeth sink into my lungs. Preventing my damn lungs from fully expanding, I am left shaking, seeing stars as I fight desperately not to pass out; I dig my nails into my thighs.
Holding in this anger is causing additional pain to soar through my chest; the rattlesnake's entire family is invading my lungs. Mama and Papa snakes have each lung while their kids each take residence up inside the lungs, sinking their teeth into my lungs, releasing their venom.
Most people describe living with CF as trying to breathe through a straw; I feel as if it's worse than a thinned out straw lining; CF feels as if I am living in a tunnel of perpetual darkness with both the exit and entrance blocked by large boulders. They trap the air inside my lungs, unable to vent anywhere, becoming stale dangerous the way too much carbon dioxide is when it's inside a house.
The gasses mix with my anger in a deadly twisted dance of compounds, so basically, right now, I am fucking volcano ready to explode lava all over the damn place. Women won the right to vote in 1920; in 1964, title VII of the civil rights act passed, prohibiting sex discrimination in the workplace. In 1972 Dianne Rechle became the first female paramedic in the USA. For nearly 200 years, women have been fighting fire's Molly Williams was a member of Engine Company #11 in 1815, somehow though, according to Chief Dave, women serving in the fire department is infuriating.
Part of me is furious, humiliated. I am blinded by my emotions all my working life I've had to worry about the perception of being a woman in a rigorous and fast-paced environment as Emergency Medical Services. Even in a small town like Fowlerton, Indiana. Everyone here knows your business every mistake I made; every infraction ever brought to they spread my folder around as Sunday's hottest gossip.
I'm sexually harassed; they make jokes at my expense every shift; rumors fly every time I get praised by a higher outside of this firehouse. I've had to fight for my place to prove I can keep up with the guys, and every-time, they expect me to pay them with sexual favors as if they did me a favor by allowing me to serve with them. When I refuse, and I refuse every damn time because I am not some country whore willing to sell her body to get ahead, it's as if I insulted their little pea-sized dicks straight through their over-sized ego.
Life is hell for me when one gets too drunk and too grabby. I run circles around my lazy dumb-ass partner every day, yet it'll never matter cause as long as Dave is on the realm, I will never get the credit or the promotions. Unless I will sleep my way to the top, and I will slice off my right breast before I ever do that. Ever.
Apparently, being a woman in a hypocritical small town isn't enough for me nope, God decided I needed a more significant damn challenge, so he blessed me with CF; a disease is still not understood by many important people like the people in charge of the Cognitive Exam which I needed to get my certification to become a paramedic. In their uneducated minds, I wasn't strong enough to be a paramedic; it didn't matter that I passed all the written tests, all the drills, and field excises with flying colors. I got the top grades in my class, worked longer hours, skipped meals so I could keep up with anyone else in my class. These people who didn't know me classify me as different, so I wasn't cut out for being a paramedic in their minds. Never mind the fact I know more about medicine than they ever will in their pathetic lifetimes.
Welcome To My Hometown.
Read the rest here and please eave a review. If you want a specific female with Shay let me know. https://m.fanfiction.net/s/13762851/1/Half-Of-My-Hometown

#8, 18, 31, and 41
8. How did you get involved in your latest fandom?I was about to say Supernatural was my latest fandom, but it's just my biggest, most persevering fandom (My husband, btw, who first turned on netflix and said "Watch this. Yeah, I know you don't like horror. Watch it anyway. I promise you'll like it.")
so i think the correct answer would have to be Venom - and it's @feathers-and-cigarettes fault cause he talked up the movie so much I had to go watch it, and then i fell in love, and he's been spoon feeding me bits and pieces of the comic stuff here and there too
18. What ship have you written the most about?
probably destiel, to be honest. *does a quick check just for Shits and giggles*
Okay, so, out of my top 10 most used relationship tags on A03 - the top tag (Destiel) has 96 instances, and all the others combined come to 79.
Yeaaaaaah. Destiel it is.
31. What’s the nicest thing someone has ever said about your writing?
I can't possibly pull receipts right now - I wouldn't even know where to look. Some of have been for my writing in general, some have been for specific stories, some have been in comments, others reblogs, or even PMS
but I've had other writers tell me how well my dialogue flows, others tell me how strong a certain character voice is, and those are definitely heartening to hear.
I've had a few readers say something along the lines of "This was great! I just finished and I'm about to re-read it" which is mindboggling.
any time i see my fic rec'd i'm absolutely tickled pink.
i love the short and sweet comments, the in depth comments. the comments on a long fic that only come at the end because they were so engrossed they couldn't put it down, or the commenters who manage to somehow comment on every chapter - I find all those things so awesome.
41. List and link to 5 fanfics you are currently reading:
I tend to start and finish stories in one sitting if I can - which is what makes reading longer fics more difficult for me. I love ‘em and I don’t want to put them down, even if i have to, so I actually LIKE reading WIPS because it helps me control myself. That means, my current reading list is full of WIPS:

Venom, symbrock, 17+ chapters, 76k+ words, Mature (Funny as hell!)
SummaryThe thing about Eddie, right, is that he's kinda an enormous fuckup. And it's starting to catch up to him a bit.
For real, the BEST thing to happen in those six months after he and Anne broke up was getting an alien parasite, and that was accounting for the whole 'it was eating his organs' thing.
Or Else by @jupiterjames
Supernatural, Destiel, sabriel, 15+ chapters, 78k+ words, Explicit (slow burn)
SummaryIn the years following his mother's death in a house fire, Dean Winchester begins to develop OCD as a way to cope with the loss. After more than a decade without a diagnosis, his symptoms grow more severe. And after the sudden death of John Winchester, Dean is left to cope by himself and Sam is forced to quit his undergrad in order to care for him. Ashamed of his shut-in life, and guilty that his little brother has become his caretaker at the expense of everything else, Dean seeks out therapy, and five years later, is holding down a full time job, can freely visit his favorite coffee shop to get a daily dose of Castiel, the (hot) hippie owner, and Sam is now free to return to school.
Sam Winchester would do anything for his brother, but he is more than thrilled to finally be returning to school, even if he is a 23 year-old sophomore. It also helps that a certain smart mouthed TA is helping him get back into the groove. Of course, getting a good read on Gabriel is just about as easy as advanced Chemistry, and he's not so great at that, either. As the semester goes on, he gets the distinct impression that his orderly life is about to get messy.

SummaryDean's equally exciting and terrifying news are forced to take a backseat for Castiel as he struggles to find the Omega ring for which his Omega's abuser was recruiting. While Cas is away, Dean grows closer to Eileen- also expecting her first pup- and her Alpha mate, Sam, which gives him insight into his foggy past and a glimpse into his future.
The increasing time apart proves difficult for both Dean and Castiel, leading way to feelings of inadequacy for Dean and discomfort in his rapidly changing body. Meanwhile, Cas fears that spending so much time in his wolf form while searching for the imprisoned Omegas will drain away his humanity...and ultimately lose him his mate.
Thursday's Angel by @unforth
Supernatural, Destiel, 14+ chapters, 65k + words, Explicit, Murder Husband
Summary:Castiel, angel of the Lord, is at peace with the mission assigned him by God almighty. His job - no, his purpose, the meaning of his existence - is to slay demons. He can see them, their eyes blackened by the evil they’ve done, their souls corrupted beyond hope of salvation, and when he finds one, he sends them to hell. Yes, the work is hard, the price to himself steep, but God has commanded it, and it’s better that Castiel bear the stain of murder than some poor mortal suffer because Castiel wasn’t strong enough to do what must be done.
And tonight’s demon - a murderer at least twice over, confirmed by Castiel's own eyes - is no different, no matter how fair his visage appears when not warped by sin.
Castiel will do his duty, as he always has, and when the deed is done - and no sooner - he’ll pray for the souls of the fallen, and for the forgiveness Castiel knows God will not - cannot - grant.

Through the Window |:| Tom Holland
Mob!Tom Holland x Reader
Summary: As Tom's new neighbor, [Y/N] didn't know that a look through his window costed them lots.
A/N: Low-key a bit creepy, but hey, I would be curious too. (This is my first official fanfic on this blog! Thank you so much for reading~)

It was a tough two months at [Y/N]'s new home as everything was, well, new. They were completely alone in this new, clean, neighborhood for the first time.
For a while, they didn't know what to do as they were used to hot dinners and nagging, but now, they've been stuck with frozen dinners and the sound of loneliness blasted across the house. Wanting to scratch that itch of going home diminished after meeting their next-door neighbor, Tom Holland.
During a cozy, summer morning while [Y/N] was setting their garden, he was the first person to introduce himself to them. The simple interraction made them feel welcomed and known in this unexplored territory. Now and then, if [Y/N] was outside at the same time as him, Tom would simply make small-talk with [Y/N] before being swallowed by his home.
However, something was tugging in [Y/N]'s mind about him. From generic observations, they have never seen anyone going in nor out of that house besides Tom. Most of his windows were crystal clear and displayed furniture in the room, but [Y/N] hasn't caught sight of that brown-haired male. [Y/N] assumed it was because he's busy, but the amount of time [Y/N] spent at home looking through his windows proved otherwise.
He seemed to be invisible for most of the day as [Y/N] seen no sight of him until those rare moments where he leaves his house and starts up his fancy car [Y/N] doesn't know the brand of. They've never seen Tom return, but he's leaving the house again in a few days. All his groceries were delivered to the back of his house and were always gone by morning. A gardener came once a week as well as someone from the cleaning department.
Once, on a warm, summer evening, with the darkening sky speckled with faint white, [Y/N] was slurping a smoothie as they gazed at the blaring television. The AC was blasting, and [Y/N] was snugged into a reclining chair. A commercial for the next big oven invention was dancing off the white walls, and the smooth hum of the microwave warming their T.V. dinner was the added touch.
Once the microwave chimed, a black van slowed right in front of Tom's house. While rising to grab her T.V. dinner, [Y/N] spectated the van through the kitchen window and observed two men dragging along another person towards the front door with another man dressed in a suit following behind. [Y/N] didn't catch a glimpse of the person, but [Y/N] immediately snatched their chicken nugget dinner and sat back down to watch it unfold. This could reveal more about him.
Bashes at the door alerted Tom, so, he swung the door open and, immediately, confusion jumped onto his face as he glanced between the well-dressed men.
"Why the hell are you here?" Tom demanded as he ushered the men inside in case any prying eyes were watching.
Once [Y/N] shut the television off, they maintain focus on the show unfolding before them as they finally see Tom Holland interact with human life. Unfortunately, they couldn't hear a thing, so they resorted in making up their own dialogue in their head, totally oblivious of the truth.
"We're sorry, mate," started one of the men, "but this little pipsqueak," he gestured to the cowering man, "was so fucking adamant about seeing you about his debt."
"You weren't picking up your goddamn phone, Tom," the other man added quickly with a sprinkle of irritation in his voice. Tom's jaw tensed and shoved his hands into his fluffed hair.
"Well, maybe, Sam, I fucking was purposefully ignoring to get a good night's sleep."
"It's, like, eight o'clock! Why are you fucking sleeping when you could be out having fun with the ladies?"
"Well, maybe, Harry, I'm tired," with a faint growl, Tom rubbed his face roughly, "how many times have I told you to not fucking appear at my fucking house when it's about work?! For all I know, someone could fucking be watching right now!" The twins rolled their eyes simultaneously, and Harry shoved the frighten man towards Tom.
"Just deal with him quickly, then," Harry spat. Tom ran his tongue against his bottom teeth, tightening his jaw. With arms wrapped around himself, he sighed of defeat and faced Harrison.
"I assume you have his file, Haz?" Harrison grinned as he whipped out the manila folder.
"Of course! Did you think I'd come empty-handed?" Tom seized the thin folder and opened it to glance at its contents. Once his eyes laid upon the man's history, Tom tutted and leisurely ambled towards the man who instantly found the pattern in the carpet more interesting.
"Oh, Chase Walker, what am I gonna do?" Tom slapped the folder shut and clutched Chase's chin to snap his head upwards.
"You are here because you wanted to see me, but as I clearly see in the database that you were supposed to return that 250 grand you borrowed from me," he released Chases's chin with a thrust and handed the folder back to Harrison, "the task was simple: get me that 250 grand by today." Chase's eyes wavered as he glanced at Tom and clasped his hands together after dropping onto his knees.
"Pl-Please, I beg you. I-I've only got a hun-hundred grand. I need more time! The re-recent tests on my wife are co-costly! Our insurance—"
"I don't care about your fucking problem!" As if on cue, Harrison handed him a piece of paper with scribbles at the bottom. Tom shoved the paper towards Chase's face.
"Do you not remember this? This was the damn contract you signed, indicating when you'll return the money." Chase shattered as his hot cheeks felt wet while feeling like he was being suffocated in a plastic bag, choking on his words.
"B-but I—"
"No 'but's," Tom tossed the contract to the side and eyed the twins, "take him upstairs to my office." The twins complied and hauled Chase up the carpeted steps.
"Where are they going?!" Exclaimed [Y/N] as they noticed they moved to somewhere else. Hurling their dish onto the table, they shot up and waited to see where they'll be by the windows. They caught sight of the five walking along the second floor through the wide window and then disappeared. For quite sometime, [Y/N] didn't notice them until they saw a barely noticeable Tom far from the window. Where Tom was, [Y/N]'s equivalent was standing in front of their bedroom window. Assessing the situation, their eyes widened and their hand rapidly covered their mouth that flung open at what was in Tom's hands.
"N-no! Wh-what are you doing?! Don't shoot me, I beg you," Chase crawled along the floor and gripped Tom's legs, wailing and pleading to let him live, "please! I'll do anything!" But Tom simply ignored him. He let Chase beg; he let Chase scratch his legs; he let Chase suffer knowing he's going to die.
"Harrison, throw me that silencer over there." Harrison tossed a slick, black, cylindrical silencer to Tom, and Tom caught it right before screwing it onto the front of his pistol. With Chase's cries slowing down, knowing it's not going to do anything, Tom kicked him off and aimed right between Chase's eyes. Once Chases's eyes started to water again, Tom pulled back the safety and pulled the trigger.
With a heavy sigh, he turned around and instantly noticed a figure right across at the neighboring house. His face hardened as [Y/N] realized he saw them. With fear bubbling inside them, they ran as far as they could to reach their phone downstairs. Tom swiveled to the men in the room, and pointed to the window.
"We've been spotted. Catch the person nextdoor, and bring them here!" Ordered Tom as the men sprinted out the door with no delay.
[Y/N] snatched their phone and dialled the police while running out the back door, hoping to get to their vehicle quickly.
"What's your emerg—" [Y/N]'s phone cracked against the ground as another tackled them. Harrison stomped onto [Y/N]'s phone as Sam forced them up while keeping a firm arm around their mouth to prevent loud noise.
[Y/N] whirled around in Sam's arms as Sam kept his stance and hauled [Y/N] towards Tom's house as quickly as possible. Inaudible sounds escaped [Y/N]'s mouth as their arms continuously pulled Sam's arm away from their mouth. Clearly, Sam was stronger than [Y/N], but they didn't give up anyway because anything was better than nothing.
[Y/N] was thrown onto the carpeted floor in the blood-splattered room and caught sight of the dead man lying against the chair. [Y/N] felt their stomach turn inside out and gagged at the image. They turned their head around to avoid it.
"Well, [Y/N]. How much did you see?" Tom's sickly soft voice penetrated [Y/N]'s brain that gave warnings that this guy just murdered a man in his own house. They looked up but refused to make eye contact with the murderer.
"Everything," [Y/N] announced with venom soaked in it. Tom threw his head back as a throaty laugh echoed in the soiled room.
"Pity. You've started to grow on me," informed Tom in a faux sweet tone. He took a few steps back and pointed the gun at their head.
"Sweet dreams."
And he pulled the trigger.

His
Ivar & Reader & Sigurd fanfic thingy
So, hi hello, dear people of tumblr. As I said, once I start, there’s no stoping me, so excuse my eventual grammar mistakes in this one, for it was written long into the night. If you find a sentence or a paragraph that makes no sense, please let me know. :)
Lenght: 3000 +/- words
Warnings: Uhm, no smut, there’s a part that leads there, but it’s really more fluff then anything else. And, you know how it goes with Ivar and Sigurd - brotherly bullying, low self esteem and overly high one on the other side, if you know wht I mean. I’m so sorry I always talk shit in my intros, sometimes I wonder if it makes people not want to read it, and I still can't stop myself from rambling.Oh, not to forget Sigurd being an ass and performing an attempt of sexual assault.
Anyway, I hope you like this, and if you do, let me know, because I really wish to explore it further (and if you don’t like it, let me know aswell!)
Okay, here goes nothing...
**
You were laying on your bed, with your husband next to you, his back turned to you. There was no contact between the two of you, no skin on skin, anything. You should have gotten used to it by now, but it bothered you more than ever, more every day. You watched his strong shoulders move slightly with every breath he took, your body trembling with every painful sigh that he would make every now and then.
For over a year now, you’ve been married to Ivar the Boneless, yet in that year you had never felt as if you were a wife.  You felt awful, unwanted and unloved, at first not understanding anything about his behavior towards you, but with time, as you learned more about him, you came to understand. That still didn’t mean you were okay with it, though.
You never wanted to marry him, you were scared to death of him at the beginning. Ivar was known to be ruthless and cruel, a monster you would dare say, but in your four walls he was never that. He was far from a loving husband, but you couldn’t complain about him treating you badly, but then again, he didn’t treat you at all, it felt as if you were nonexistent, a breeze passing through the house. A housekeeper, a cook, a healer sometimes, that was all you were.
Ivar had his angry outbursts, he was not very good at controlling his temper, but he never hurt you in any way but with his words, and you took good care of not holding yours back neither - you poured your venom at him with equal force as he did his at you. Gods, his words stung sometimes, your eyes would fill with tears, but you never allowed those tears to spill in front of him, showing weakness. If Ivar hated something, it was weakness.
On his bad days, when the pain caused by his state would get the best of him, he would become insufferable, but still, you would withstand it. You never pitied him, he was not a man to feel sorry for, he was the man to be either feared or admired, either hated or loved. With Ivar, there were no in-betweens. You both feared and hated him once you got married, but things tend to change, and they did, but you had a hard time confessing it to yourself, since your relationship was everything but what it was supposed to be.
And you grew sick of it, sick to the extend of feeling actual sickness in your stomach every time you would try to touch him, but he would just push you away. As said already, it was hard to confess it to yourself, but you grew fond of him, you actually adored the strength he had in him, the tough life of his being the cause of that, but even more, it surprised and scared you simultaneously when you realized you were falling for the amazing, yet twisted, mind of his. He, however, appeared to be blind to any of it.
It’s like your first night together left a mark on him as deep, and scarring, and as hard to wipe away, that you kept failing. You avoided to go back to that night in your head, but somehow you couldn’t escape it at this very moment, as you watched him breathe next to you, the warmth of his body reaching your skin without touching it. He was beautiful, a beautifully wounded monster you had in your bed, and you knew very damn well what you would do with him, if only he would let you. And you felt bad, bad for the words you said to him on your first night, the only night he ever tried to touch you.
-Don't you dare touching me ever again, you monster! I would rather die than be touched by you!
Yes, you said that. It burned inside of you now, filling every piece of you with sorrow and regret. Oh, how things tend to change.
A silent shriek escaped your mouth, as he suddenly twitched and moaned in pain after the tough day he had. You wondered if he was actually asleep, or just pretending. You saw his body tremble, as it was an ice-cold night, with wind howling like an enraged animal, and your heart racing at the sudden wish that hit it. You turned to your side, facing Ivar’s back, crawled a little closer, your hand gently traveling across the bare skin of his back, up to his shoulder, where you allowed it to rest. He didn’t push you away, so he probably was asleep. Slowly and gently, you moved your hand to his stomach, caressing his muscles with your fingertips, as they traveled the said distance. Cautiously, you moved a little closer, and he started to wiggle.
-Ivar, I’m cold. You whispered, but he just took your hand and moved it, turning towards you, and pulling the covers up to your shoulders. You couldn’t help but smile, though that’s not what you had in mind, it was as sweet and innocent as it gets with Ivar.
With his face now turned towards you, you took a moment to study his features. He had an angel’s face, and you were weak for it. You were weak for him, confessing the amount of your weakness for the first time in the past year. You weren’t ready to give up just yet. You stroked his cheek, your touch featherlight, and then turned your back to him, pulling as close to him as you could, pressing your body against his skin. You took his hand, and put it around your waist, keeping a grip to it, so he wouldn’t just pull away.
-What is this, woman? He mumbled, sleepily.
-Shhh, it’s cold. Let’s just warm up together, hmm? You whispered, still tightly holding his hand, desperate to keep it around your waist. He tried to pull it away, but you kept your grip firm, so he didn’t insist. You smiled to yourself, proud of this little victory of yours, luckily wiggling even closer to him.
The warmth of his body, the one you were dying to feel lately, was truly intoxicating. With your eyes shut, your restless fingers traveled up and down his arm, gently stroking it, finally causing him to relax and silently sigh, in what you interpreted as pleasure, and there was no stopping it now.
You outstretched your arm behind you, and reached for whatever part of his skin you could reach, caressing it, feeling his length come to life, pressed against your butt, as you were curled beside him. Outstretching your arm a bit more, you grabbed his behind, pulling him closer. The feeling of his manhood pressed against you, caused a silent cry of joy escape your lips.
You knew the stories of him not being able to please a woman were not true, even if Ivar himself was convinced they were. But you were set to prove a point, set to the cause of making your life better, of making both your lives better. And at the current event breakdown, you were doing a good job, and no old mistakes or old failures would make you stop what you were doing.
Your grabbing his butt evidentially woke him up, and he mumbled in protest. You turned around to face him, gently pressing your finger at his lips. His breath was hot, uneven, you could feel his excitement. Just don’t blow it up yet, you kept repeating in your head.
A big bad wolf out in the open, a quiet little lamb in your bed. For now.
-Ivar…you whispered, your voice shaky, resembling a moan more than a whisper.
He never heard you say his name sounding like this, and he froze at the sudden display of gentleness from you, as he was not used to it. Both your stubbornness hasn’t really been a blessing to your marriage so far.
-No, no…stop this, now. He said, slowly getting to his senses, and starting to panic.
You took both his hands in yours, trying to calm him down, for you weren’t nearly done yet.
-Ivar…please. Trust me. You whispered, putting one of his arms back around your waist, while your other hand slid down his stomach traveling lower. You felt his body grow tense.
-Hey, hey. Look at me, look at me. I want to please you, yes? Allow me…
He simply shook his head, pulling back his hand, and pulling back yours in process. You had failed, but it was just a first try.
-Ivar, it’s okay, I don’t want to push it. I just… Need you. That’s what you wanted to say, but the words were left unspoken.
-Can I just…stay like this, hmm? You asked instead, meaning to stay curled with your back pressed against his chest, next to him, feeling the warmth of his skin against yours, and he silently agreed, making you immensely happy.
You took his hand and pulled it back over your waist, intertwining your fingers with his. He didn’t protest. You don’t remember when was the last time that you slept as peacefully as you did that night, feeling completely safe in his embrace.
Ivar, on the other hand, stayed awake long into the night, wondering what it was that happened tonight, what it was that caused you to touch him, to taunt him with your restless fingers, your burning lips or your silent moans. What changed? Was it a trick of some kind?
Though not much happened that night, things changed, and the days to come were a promise of a better, brighter fumes surrounding your marriage with Ivar.
It was almost as if you started to seduce each other now, flirting daily, stealing shy looks, and some even more shy touches.
You were happy, finally you could say you were happy, and not much was missing to make you the happiest now.
 **
It was the evening of celebration, when it happened. The Great Hall was buzzing with people, and you were floating around happily, when you felt someone grab you from behind and pull you outside. You tried to protest, but were quickly silenced by a hand on your mouth, and you calmed down when Sigurd whispered to your ear. But what the hell, he could just have come to you and asked you to come out with him!
-What in the name of gods, Sigurd! You mumbled, as you were free form his grip.
You didn’t like the look he gave you, the mix of intoxication with all the ale that was spilled that night and lust, burning lust staring you right in the eye, not saying a word.
-Sigurd…you whispered, taking a step back, your hands reached in front of you, so you could stop any unwanted movement of his. If he came upon you, you feared you wouldn't be able to resist.
You had a history with Sigurd.  Before your cards fell wrong and it all fell apart with you marrying Ivar, Sigurd and you had already stolen many moments, many kisses. You laid with him once, and he was back then, the one you wanted to be your husband one day. But your father decided differently. Or was it the gods?
-What is it Y/N? Don't tell me the desire to be touched by a real man isn't killing you. We both know Ivar isn't much of a husband.  He laughed, coming closer, continuing to spill poison out of his mouth. You got angry, you could feel your blood boil, your body tense, and your fists clench, but still, Sigurd was faster.
The night was loud, the music and voices coming from the Great Hall making it impossible for the two of you to hear the very recognizable dragging sound of your husband approaching, reaching his shadowy hideout, in the very moment Sigurd pinned you to the wall, and connected his lips to yours in a drunken desire.
What you didn’t know was that Sigurd knew very damn well what he was doing, and he chose his moment wisely.
What you missed to see and hear, while you were carelessly mingling through the crowd in the Hall before Sigurd grabbed you, was another argument between the two brothers. You learned in your past year just how much Sigurd enjoyed taunting Ivar, he was pushing it constantly, bullying him, tormenting, he found immense fun in Ivar’s rage, that being the main reason for you to finally see Sigurd for what he was.
So, when he grabbed you and dragged you out, he did so to prove a point, the point being that you do not belong to Ivar, the point being he can have you anytime, the point being he was better than Ivar. How wrong he was.
Ivar, in that brilliant strategic mind of his, struggled hard to stay silent, but he did, despite the rage that consumed him.
His eyes were glimmering with raging storm inside of them, but he kept silent, for the scene he just witnessed needed context. He refused to believe, and it made no sense to him that you would betray him with such ease, now that things started to get better between the two you. Or was it a trick all along? Were you that good of an actress? You must be, for there you are, kissing Sigurd. His expression darkened even more with the thought. Sigurd's behavior didn't surprise or disappoint him, but yours did, and that was the only reason he kept silently waiting for you to show it was not a trick after all, giving you a chance.
When you pushed Sigurd of off you, not having the slightest trouble to resist his touch, the realization hit you like a lightning - this was not out of fear of Ivar that you did it, it was out of love for Ivar. The growl you made while you pushed him away sounding much like a battle cry, and it was, for you’ve risen your hand just to stick it to his face with a thud.
He laughed.
-Oh, come on now, sweetie pie, we both know you crave to be touched. You crave to be fucked...you crave for a man that can give you pleasure, a real man...
He came closer once more, but you wouldn’t allow him to touch you again. Not him, he doesn’t have any right to. You pushed hard, while your leg found the way behind Sigurd’s and you successfully managed to knock him down. Quickly, you climbed upon him, grabbing his hands, trying to tame him. He found that amusing, so it wasn’t very hard to do.
Truth be told, Sigurd was right about one thing, you did crave to be touched, of course you did, you were not made od stone, but Sigurd wasn’t the man who’s touch you wanted. His words enraged you, made both yours and Ivar’s blood boil, but he kept silent, as he watched you climb on top of Sigurd, not really understanding what you’re trying to do, nor knowing what to expect from you. He sure didn't expect you to stand up for him, for Sigurd was right, and he knew it, but he did still hope you would. At the same time, with or without hope, he was ready to release his anger upon the both of you, but then your words froze him death.
Sitting there, on top of Sigurd, finally in the position to do so, it  was you who unleashed your wrath, growling at him, your usually soft voice turning into thunder.
-How dare you, Sigurd, son of Ragnar, to put a finger on your brother's wife?! How dare you torture your brother like this with your rotten words and actions day by day? How dare you, Sigurd Snake in the eye, to even assume you're more of a man than Ivar is?
Sigurd laughed, mocking your words, but the things you said next left him with his mouth agape, silent and wordless for a fraction of a second at least. Ivar didn’t see that coming either, and his facial expression softened, a smile creeped lightly to the corner of his lips, and he relaxed, finally being sure where your heart lies. Finally being able to confirm that there is at least one thing that his brother will not be able to take away from him.
There was no lie in your fire, and he saw you then and there in another light. Patient and gentle, yet strong and independent. Fierce. His. You were his. Your every word confirmed now who you belonged to.
-Hmm, Sigurd?
You grabbed his chin with your hand, making him look you in the eyes as you hissed at him.
-Listen now, Sigurd. You may be my prince, but that does not make you any less of an ass. And mark my words, sweetie pie, I am a wife of your brother now and solely that should be enough for you to keep your hands of me, but in case it's not, do remember that soon enough, I will be the wife of your king. For not only is Ivar the boneless as big of a man as you, he's the better one. And I, Sigurd, will be your queen, so if I were you, I’d watch out.
He deafly stared at you, until the moment you decided to get back to your feet, but then he grabbed your wrist, and finally finding words, he whispered, laughing.
-What a nice little lie to tell yourself, woman. Does it help you fall asleep when you lay next to him in your bed at night? You are deranged if you truly believe that Ivar will ever be king.
You pulled your hand, setting it free of his grip, and finally lifting back to your feet. You smiled, your smile wicked and threatening.
-And you are blind, if you do not see that he will.
***
(I admit it, I was never fond of Sigurd.)

Those Left Behind - The 100 Fanfic
Clexa. (Set after Clarke defeated ALLIE in the City Of Light. Her decision did not set off all the bombs and she was able to return safely, however the damage done by those under the Chip’s influence is still happening by vigilante groups intent on bringing back the City Of Light) Clarke Griffin stood in the throne room of Polis, lost. Memories of her beloved Lexa filling every corner and she could feel herself crumbling. Her mother Abby Griffin watched from the doorway, determined to let her daughter process and grieve, all the while fighting the building urge to wrap her daughter in a tight hug and take her far away from all the pain. Marcus Kane joined Abby and they shared a silent look filled with understanding, Poor Clarke had watched Lexa die, unable to help and when she had just began to accept her loss and start grieving when she had been forced to take matters into her own hands and enter the City Of Light where she was only briefly reunited with her lost love and this tore open the fragile stitches holding her together. “Clarke, you should come have something to eat” began Abby gently “You need to rest and recover” but her words fell on deaf ears, Clarke didn't want to think about eating and her sleep was terrorised by visions of Lexa dying. “Maybe later Mom, I've got some things I need to do alone first” she managed to utter and Abby and Kane left the room, hoping by respecting her boundaries that she would come to them when she was ready for their support or guidance. The streets of Polis where filled with noise as both grounders and the sky people worked to remove the wooden crosses littering the city. Smells of food cooking began to drift over the crowds, enticing them to work faster to get to their meals, Amongst them Octavia Blake and Jasper Jordan. The crosses were piled into a bonfire which was lit, signalling a hopefully brighter future for all involved. Octavia sat down beside Indra, her muscles ached and burned. Tucking into the meat she savagely tore it from the stick it had been roasted on, ravenous. Looking up she saw the light of Lexa’s candles burning brightly against the rapidly darkening sky, and she scanned the crowds for the rest of her friends, her gaze falling on Abby and Kane who looked to be gathering some food to take to Clarke, thinking about Clarke's grief made her remember her own, her mate Lincoln brutally killed as he stood down to save his people. Deep in thought she barely registered when Indra kept to her feet and charged through the crowds. Octavia followed, wondering what on earth had come over her Leader and when she managed to catch up with Indra she immediately knew what had caused the sudden departure. Locked in a fight with a hooded grounder, Indra seemed to be on the losing side as the opposition appeared to dance around all of Indra's attacks while managing to get past every attempt that Indra made to block. Suddenly the mystery grounder swept Indra off her feet and pointed a blade at her throat while Indra lay on her back, helpless. Pulling the hood off the grounder took on a familiar face, “Lexa?!?” “So it's true then, she's dead.” said the stranger stepping aside so Indra was allowed up, gasping and using a stunned Octavia to gain her balance. “what is going on!?” demanded Octavia, her mind racing and surprisingly it was Indra who spoke. “You cannot be here, Lexa tried to get you to come home, sent countless warriors to find you but you were gone, why come back now? There's nothing for you here” she spat, her voice dripping with venom. “I came back because I heard you didn't protect her, you let her die Indra” replied the stranger whose voice was calm and emotionless. Octavia was still trying to catch up what was happening when she heard Clarke's voice and inwardly knew things were going to take a dark turn. “Lexa!” screamed Clarke, her voice filled with hope and joy and drawing a stunned Abby and Kane to into the slowly forming crowd. The strangers face turned pained, and before anyone could stop her, pulled up her hood and fled, climbing a wall and scrambling over rooftops to escape. Clarke stood dumbly, confusion written on everyone's face. “Lexa….” Clarke began before being cut off by Niko, “No Wanheda, you've just met her shadow. Her twin Nova.”, obviously annoyed Indra stormed away while Niko motioned the others to return with him to his tent. Once they had all sat he began telling the story of the sisters. “you'd never met two girls so different. I delivered them and to this day I believe Lexa fought to enter the world first, it was her way. No sooner had Lexa come into the world her sister was ready, Their mother Asha was in shock, two girls, Lexa and Nova. Growing up they were constantly together, fighting and hunting, I'd never met such a closely bonded pair of misfits. Lexa was revealed in her tenth year to have Night Blood meaning she would have the chance to fight in the conclave to be The Commander while Nova did not. It was Nova who helped her sister train, determined to make her fiercer then any other fighter seen before. The conclave was set and despite one night blood disappearing, Lexa proved herself worthy of the Commanders Spirit and she accepted the Flame. Nova was there beside her during every moment, proving her enduring love and support. Soon after Lexa became Heda, she was called into battle and asked for Nova and longtime advisor Indra to come to the battlefield. It was long and bloody, leading Lexa to charge into battle alongside her warriors. During the battle Lexa was badly wounded and while she lay recovering Nova paced, furious that she'd allowed her sister to come to harm. Going behind enemy lines she acted as her sister, drawing the enemy leaders out before slaughtering them. Nova was overcome by fury burning the tents and bodies of the enemy but on returning was greeted by a furious Indra. It's rumoured that Indra told Nova falsely that Lexa hated her for winning the war singlehandedly, making her look weak and foolish. When Nova made to see her sister to explain herself she was blocked by guards, Indra said that Lexa had no desire to see her sister again. And so Nova left. Full of rejection and guilt she ran, nobody knew where to. Lexa was told that Nova had abandoned the cause. It tore them apart. Lexa did send some people out hoping to find her sister but they turned up empty handed every time. Lexa began to think her sister was dead. Putting her from her mind, Lexa slowly began to heal. Nova must have returned on hearing the death news only to have the reality hit hard. Indra didn't exactly help things. And that's all I know” Niko finished. Clarke noticed a tear fall down his cheek and felt a sadness. Where did this leave them? What would Nova do now she knew her sister was dead? TO BE CONTINUED.
